Roots don't photograph well and this grower has made peace with it. Carrots come out forked, beets come out dusty, and both taste like something the bagged kind forgot how to. The cold months are the good months — sweetness is what a frost does to a carrot.
Forked, dirty, and the sweetest carrots I've had since my grandfather's garden. Don't come for the looks.
Beets were great roasted. A couple were on the small side, but the flavor made up for it.
Good winter roots. Had to scrub a lot of dirt off — comes with the territory, I suppose.
